Will a 991 steering wheel fit a 992?
No — the 991 and 992 use different airbag generations and connector layouts. A wheel built for one will not function correctly in the other even though the rims look similar.
Can I keep the Sport Chrono dial and mode switch?
Yes. On 991 and 992 builds the Sport Chrono dial and mode selector are retained with your own core, so the drive-mode functions remain factory-original.
Is Race-Tex or Alcantara better for track use?
Both give excellent grip. Race-Tex is Porsche's own specification and tends to wear slightly more evenly under gloves; Alcantara is more widely available in custom colours.
Does installation require cutting wires or modifications?
No. Most steering wheels are direct OEM replacements and require no cutting, splicing, or permanent modifications.
How long does installation take?
Professional installation typically takes between 30 and 90 minutes, depending on the vehicle model.
Can I install it myself?
We recommend professional installation, especially because the steering wheel contains airbag components and electronic systems. For customer installation, we provide videos or installation drawings.
